The Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology is located in the very center of Warsaw. It is situated at Plac Politechniki (the Warsaw University of Technology Square) between Stanisława Noakowskiego and Nowowiejska streets a short distance from the public transport network (the Metro station, bus and tram stops), hotels, restaurants and green areas.

Public transport information

The Warsaw Public Transport Authority (ZTM) offers various bus, trams and metro connections. The metro is the most efficient means of transportation in Warsaw. The metro now consists of two lines:

  • M1 line connects the North and South part of the city
  • M2 line connects the East and West part of the city. 

The tickets are available at ticket machines located at metro stations, at bus stops and on Fast Urban Railway (SKM) trains, as well as on some buses and trams or at news-stands, shops, post offices and of Public Transport Authority (ZTM) service points (payment by cash or by card is accepted). The prices of tickets for public transport are:

  • single fare transfer ticket (for up to 75 min of travel) – 4.40 PLN (1 EUR)
  • one-day ticket – 15 PLN (approx. 3.5 EUR)
  • weekend ticket – 24 PLN (approx. 5.5 EUR)

How to get to the city center from the airport?

Warsaw has two airports serving international and domestic long-distance connections.

The Chopin Airport is the main airport in Warsaw. It is located approximately 8 km south of the city center. There are three ways to reach the city center from the airport:

  • By TAXI: Ele Taxi, Sawa Taxi and Super Taxi are reliable taxi companies located at the front of the departure terminals. Taxi fares from the airport to the city center (the Centrum underground station) costs approximately 50 PLN (approx. 11.5 EUR) (taxi-fare after midnight is higher). Trip duration: approx. 20 min.
  • By TRAIN:The airport is served by the Fast Urban Railway (SKM) train lines: The train station is located in the area of the Main Terminal next to the Arrivals hall. For the Fast Urban Railway (SKM) train it is enough to purchase a single fare transfer ticket (for up to 75 min of travel) at the price of 4.40 PLN (1 EUR).
  • By BUS: The airport is served by line 175. Bus departs every 15-20 minutes. The bus stop is just outside the arrival terminal. For the bus it is enough to purchase a single fare transfer ticket (for up to 75 min of travel) at the price of 4.40 PLN (1 EUR). The Warsaw Modlin Airport is located around 35 km north-west from the city center. Most of the flights handled by Warsaw Modlin Airport are operated by charter airline companies and Ryanair. There are three ways to reach the city center from the airport:

  • By TAXI: Sawa Taxi and Modlin Taxi are reliable taxi companies located at the front of the terminal. The taxi fare from the airport to the city center (the Centrum underground station) costs approximately 200 PLN (approx. 46 EUR).
  • By TRAIN: Departures of Koleje Mazowieckie trains take place from Modlin railway station. In order to get there you can use a special airport bus which leaves from the airport terminal at times coordinated with KM trains timetable. A special airport ticket at the price of 17 PLN (approx. 4 EUR) can be purchased in the airport hall. Estimated time of the journey to the Warszawa Centralna/Warsaw Central Railway Station: approx. 1 hour.   • By BUS: ModlinBus is the most comfortable way of travelling between Warsaw and the airport. Departures of  Modlinbus take place 24 hours a day at times coordinated with the schedule of flights. The bus stops in the city center - car park in front of the Palace of Culture and Science (Marszałkowska street). The tickets are available in the arrivals hall, in the bus (payment in foreign currency, by cash or by card is accepted), at the point of sale in the Palace of Culture and Science and online.
